Lieutenant Kevin K. Smith

Lieutenant Smith has served the Abington Police Department since 1979. Lieutenant Smith is a long time resident of Abington and a graduate of Abington High School; Lieutenant Smith has served many functions over the years within the department such as; Patrolman, Detective Sergeant, Union President, Juvenile Diversion Program Officer, and Shift Sergeant before being promoted to Lieutenant.

Lieutenant Smith has a Bachelor of Science Degree is Law Enforcement and has attended several specialized Law Enforcement training courses and seminars.

Currently Lieutenant Smith is the police department’s website manager and is also responsible for the Professional Standards & Internal Affairs Unit. Lieutenant Smith works closely with the Chief and Deputy Chief in supervising the proficiency, discipline, conduct, and strict attention to duty for all personnel within the department, by overseeing the report review process to ensure quality control and compliance with departmental rules, regulations and policy.
