At this years National Night Out Against Crime, the Abington Police Department awarded two residents, Maureen McAlpine and Michael Kyller plaques for their service to the town.

The plaques read: In appreciation of the tireless efforts to help establish the Town of Abington as a "Heart Safe" community, the Abington Police Department would like to recognize you. Your unselfish commitment to helping others, will benefit all that live or pass through the community for many years to come.
